Thought I’d do something different today.

  1. Thanks for the video! I’m in the “landlord won’t let me dig up the yard” situation, so I’m having to learn a whole new way to grow vegetables.

  2. Ladyimbrium: You’re welcome! Container gardening is the gateway drug. Just want to warn you!

  3. We bought a house with what I’m pretty sure is Lemonbalm in the garden, and it’s run riot in three years without a gardener.

  4. Great video! Thanks for sharing! I am not a very good gardener, but maybe just maybe I can figure it out!

  5. @Pa that’s a nice surprise!

@Br. All it takes is patience. It’s not something I have in abundance but I’m learning.

Nice video! I tried container gardening this year, with mixed results, but learned a lot. One nice thing about gardening in a container is that you learn a lot about how much moisture is really needed for a given plant.

  7. Thanks Meical!

I should’ve stated in the video that Wolf drilled some holes in the bottom and sides of each container (except the wooden ones) so water could drain out. It’s really important for that to happen otherwise the roots get and stay too wet.

And in Texas they can also get too hot. Mine were not thriving until I decided to get them off the cement and into a grassy area. I am convinced it was just too hot and the cooler grassy area made the difference. Also, mine are in 5-gallon pails, which have more surface area per volume and are thus more susceptible to heat.
